Lifespan Fitness V-FOLD Treadmill with SmartStride

If you walk or light-jog 30 minutes a day in an apartment, the Lifespan V-FOLD runs at 0.5 to 12 km/h on a 1.25 CHP brushless motor that stays quiet enough for shared walls. It arrives fully assembled and supports users up to 110 kg.

It suits renters and small households short on floor space: the 180 degree double-folding frame drops to 16 cm high and slides away on transport wheels, and SmartStride adjusts your speed as you move without touching a button.

Lifespan V-FOLD treadmill folded flat with transport wheels beside a walking-mode running belt in a home setting.

Is this walking treadmill right for you?

This walking treadmill is right for you if:

  • You walk daily and want a machine that folds flat to 16 cm to slide under a bed or sofa between sessions
  • You spend most of your time at 4 to 6 km/h in Walk mode, with the option to jog up to 12 km/h now and then
  • You weigh under 110 kg and want a quiet brushless motor that won't disturb the household
  • You want it fully assembled out of the box, with remote and app control to change speed without bending down

Look at another option if:

  • You run more than a couple of days a week or train above 12 km/h, where a larger motor and longer belt earn their keep
  • You're over 180 cm and run fast, since the 120 cm x 44 cm belt feels tight at a full running stride
  • You weigh over 110 kg or share the treadmill with a heavier user
  • You want a full running deck with a big HD touchscreen and streaming programs rather than a compact LED walk-and-jog unit
Adela Ledvinkova, Our In-House Fitness Coach

Adela's Take

What stands out here is the 180 degree double fold down to 16 cm high, so it slides under a bed or sofa. The SmartStride control nudges speed to match your pace automatically.

The 1.25 CHP motor and 110 kg limit mean this is a walker's machine, not one for daily runners. Its real strength is arriving fully assembled, so you walk straight away.

Lifespan Fitness V-FOLD Treadmill with SmartStride

What's in the Box & Setup

Effort: a one-person job, around 30 to 45 minutes for a first build. Tools: a screwdriver, allen / hex key and spanner / wrench.

What arrives

  • Lifespan Fitness V-FOLD Treadmill main unit with frame and running belt
  • Remote control
  • Hardware pack with allen keys, bolts and fasteners
  • User manual and setup guide

Setup reality

  1. The treadmill arrives mostly assembled - you'll attach the handrails, connect the display console, and secure the folding base, taking around 30 to 45 minutes with basic tools.
  2. One person can handle the build alone. You'll need a screwdriver, allen key and spanner or wrench from your toolbox.
  3. The machine weighs 36.5 kg net, so moving it into position before final assembly is straightforward if you're working solo.
  4. After unpacking and removing all protective packaging, check that the belt runs smoothly and the safety key engages before your first walk or run.
  5. Frame and motor carry a 5-year warranty; all other parts are covered for 12 months from purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

How loud is it at running pace?

The EverDrive H4X brushless motor is the quiet part of the equation, so at a walk (up to 6 km/h) it stays low enough to talk over comfortably. At run pace (up to 12 km/h) most of the sound comes from your footstrike, not the motor. On a hard floor, pop a 6 mm rubber mat underneath to cut the transfer to rooms below.

Will this treadmill fit my apartment and fold away?

Yes, this is built for tight spaces. In use it takes up 146 cm long by 72 cm wide, and the 180 degree double folding drops it to 100 x 72 x 16 cm folded, thin enough to slide under a bed or against a wall. Transport wheels let you roll it out of the way one-handed. It stands 103 cm tall with the handle up, well under any standard ceiling.

Who is this treadmill actually suited to?

This is a walking and light-jogging machine, not a daily-runner's treadmill. The 1.25 CHP motor and 120 x 44 cm belt suit steady walks, incline-free jogs and step counts up to a 110 kg user weight. If you're over about 180 cm and sprinting regularly, you'll feel the belt is short. For walkers and casual joggers wanting compact cardio at home, it's a genuinely good fit.

Does the SmartStride speed control need the app to work?

No. SmartStride Adaptive Speed Control and the LED display run on their own, and you can change speed with the included remote control. Bluetooth app pairing is optional, giving you an extra way to control it and view your stats on the tablet holder. The console handles Automatic and Manual modes without a phone, so a flat battery never stops your session.

How much assembly is involved?

Barely any. It arrives fully assembled, so most of the job is unboxing, unfolding and a few finishing steps. Budget around 30 to 45 minutes for a first setup, and it's comfortably a one-person job. You'll want a screwdriver, an allen/hex key and a spanner or wrench on hand.

What warranty comes with it?

You get 5 years on the frame and motor, plus 12 months on parts, and it's an Australian warranty handled by us rather than an overseas manufacturer. On top of that, if the model page shows the 100 Day Money-Back Guarantee badge, you can return it within 100 days in as-new, repackaged condition with no restocking fee. Return shipping is the only cost you cover.

How is it delivered and what should I check on the day?

It ships as a single fully-assembled unit in a 109 x 21 x 77 cm box at 41 kg gross, sent Australia-wide with live tracking. On delivery day, inspect the packaging before you sign, then unfold and run it briefly to confirm everything works. Its compact folded size makes it easy to move into position on your own.

What happens if it arrives damaged or a part is missing?

Take photos before you unpack further and email them to support@cardioonline.com.au within 48 hours of delivery. We'll lodge the freight claim, organise replacement parts or a full unit, and stay across it until you're up and running. You won't have to deal with the courier or manufacturer yourself, that part is our job.

Perfect Treadmill - Just what I needed

Awesome treadmill. Setup was a breeze. Opened the box, Unpacked and Unfold the treadmill and placed it in my gym room. Worked straight away, remote control is brilliant and allows me to control the speed and use the different modes. Other reviews mentioned that the treadmill would not connect to the KS Fit App, I had absolutely no issues. I downloaded the app, it automatically located and paired the treadmill. I can't comment if it's easy to re-fold and move the treadmill unit to store in another area or against a wall as mine stays open all the time. I wanted a treadmill with a much smaller footprint than the traditional ones and this one has exceeded my expectations in every way. Great product, big thumbs up from me.

Compact and convenient

Love this treadmill. I bought one because it was impossible to go to the gym with my little kids. Very convenient and compact. Very solid for such a small treadmill.

App doesnt work with it

Seems like an okay treadmill, but Ive just wasted 20 minutes trying to connect to the treadmill via the app- and only when I googled have I realised that this isnt actually possible. Please update the app, or remove the instructions from the guide on how to set the app up and pair. 2/5 because Im pretty annoyed I just spent the time trying to get it working thinking that I was doing something wrong

Pretty nice, slim, compact & sturdy

Im not a runner but love walking. I absolutely love how compact this is (41kgs) and once closed, it wheels & can park it next to a wall. The handlebar is sturdy & its a great machine to put in front of TV. Kids get their iPads, watch and walk. I do have a large home but absolutely hate large, bulky treadmills that are in the way and dont truely fold to minimal size. This works best on hard floors such as tiles & you can hold dumbbells as well. Reaching 10kms which is a really fast walk- its perfect for what I need it for. I cant wait to use it under my home standing desk, at least I can slow walk while on the PC. Its recommended for ages under 60 and under 110kgs. For the older person, youd want something with a heavier, fixed frame but for now with myself and age of my kids- its really nice

Applicable Age missing from website

You seem to be missing the applicable age included in the manual that comes with the product from your website specs? 14-60 yo if anyone older is looking to purchase & will be caught out as I was. Will be a struggle to unbox & setup if you live alone.

Good size. Poor app options.

Does not sync with strava or garmin. Also could use with a higher speed threshold like 4km/min.

Treadmill is fine - remote doesnt work

Unpacked and set the treadmill up, remote didnt work from day 1. I raised a warranty request through the website and havent heard a thing since (this was weeks ago). Pretty poor customer service to be honest! Treadmill works okay, but its annoying and dangerous having to rely on the app to adjust speed or stop. I really wish they could sort this out. Shame it comes to raising the issue via a review.

Pretty decent treadmill

Ive had this treadmill for a month now and Ive used it 5 days a week for about 45 mins to an hour each day. I havent actually folded it up since it arrived but its nice to know that it can be done. This is my first treadmill. Set up out of the box was easy. I used the app initially but didnt use it past day 2 as I have a fitness watch which is sufficient for my needs. Its pretty straightforward to use. I dread to think what Ill do if the remote ever fails as Im not sure it has any other means of controlling it (aside from the app, which Im not interested in). My only gripe is that the belt shifts more often than I thought it would, so Ive had to calibrate it every couple of days. This might just be the belt settling in or perhaps Im on an angle (Ive placed a large piece of timber under it as I have carpet) or maybe my legs are different lengths and Ive never noticed. All in all, Im glad I purchased this treadmill.

No Regrets

Wow. Compact and Convenient. So easy to set up and use. Ive had three traditional treadmills prior to this one and they just looked ugly in my small house. This just wheels to whatever spot i want it in. I can walk or run and feel safe doing so.

I was sceptical, but I love it

I agonised over purchasing an under desk treadmill for ages. I did loads of research but was worried that it would be difficult to set up and move, maybe it would be difficult to work while walking or that my motivation wouldn't hold out and it would end up being an expensive dust gathering waste of space. None of those things turned out to be the case. I use it everyday while working from home. I can do video calls, type, use my mouse do reasonably precise graphic design or CAD work aty standing desk all while walking. I'm averaging about 8km/day. Before getting this treadmill I did almost no exercise. My mood, fitness, concentration and productivity have all improved. If you're thinking about it - do it! While researching, I did find it quite confusing looking at the various brands - I never really got to the bottom of it, but many of the WalkingPad, Lifespan, KingSmith and other branded treadmills are all actually the same product (I think). Either way, this V-fold treadmill from lifespan is good quality. I've done over 100km so far with no issues at all. It connects to the app first time everytime. The app is straight forward and reliable. It does what I need it to do. The remote also works well. I use both at my desk - the remote, with its large buttons, is handy for quick pauses or speed adjustments etc - the app is nice to track yourusage etc. The treadmill folds easily (although it is noisy when doing so - not a biggie but something to consider if you're folding it at night near others sleeping) - I think it's the Matt peeling off the underside of something - not sure). It stores vertically, which is a good feature for me - I didn't have the floorspace for a flat-stored treadmill. It takes me about 30 seconds to set-up/pack up. It is quite heavy and the wheels are tiny, it would be fine to move on hard concrete or hard-timber floors, but it's difficult to move on carpet and the tiny wheels mark/dent our Baltic line floorboards. Something to consider if your planning on moving it from room to room a lot (I just carry it - heavy but quite doable). The unit is fairly quiet in use - in another room with a door closed at walking pace it's barely audible. It can sometimes make a bit of a clacking/clicking kind of sound with each footfall, which can be irritating for others - I use it with headphones most of the time, so it doesn't bother me at all. You can comfortably carry out video or phone calls etc while using it. The only negative is that the handle is quite awkward to move up and down - I don't do that often as I use it with the handle stored flat (i.e. not in use). The build quality seems good. I imagine a cheaper treadmill might not last as long. In summary, I'm really glad I took the plunge on this treadmill. Recommended.

Great - Get it!

I purchased this a month ago and it works well. It's heavy and not super easy to fold, but I think it has to be heavy to be sturdy enough to use. It's not something easy to fold up and put away and then use when needed.. it's definately better if you have a set place for it. I fold it once (instead of twice) and keep it in it's spot. I think this is the cheapest you can go without the quality getting really bad as I have also purchased a cheaper one in the past. The bar is also good height to read whilst walking.

Love it, I can fold it up against the wall when not in use haven't had a problem with it so far.

Not that good

The product quality has been a disappointment. Sometimes I cannot switch it off using only the app. The worst aspect is that I cannot use the walking pad for more than 2 consecutive hours, and this was not clear by reading the specs before buying it. Sometimes the app does not register my workout and the data is just lost. The foldability of the walking pad is good but for the first period, there was a very annoying clicking sound at each step, now that problem sorted itself out. Overall this purchase has not been what I wanted it to be.

Excellent treadmill!

I just got my new v fold treadmill and I love it! It folds up nicely and can be stored in my apartment which I love. The treadmill is very quiet and is good quality. I love that I can run on it as most other similar treadmills only have a walking function. The only issue I have is the plastic reader at the base was lifted on arrival. I press it back down but it comes back off within an hour. Other than that I love it.

Working well, about as loud as a dishwasher

I have been using this product under my desk. The app is fine for me, I only had to pair it once and I use it every time just by hitting the power button on the app to start and stop it. I have not needed to use the remote at all. As I bought this only for getting more movement in during the work day I have only used it for walking so far. I have not experienced any problems with the belt going to the side but it did come with an Allen key and oil in case that happens. The app also has a cool calibration feature that you can use to make sure the belt is centred and it's easily adjustable with the Allen key. It folds up nicely and I have been storing it folded flat under my desk when not in use. It is easy and not too heavy to fold in and out. I had seen a report of it being about the same sound level in decibels as a dishwasher and that seems right to me. I have found an additional benefit of it keeping me focused on my work rather than wandering away from my desk and this helps me to stay in deep work for longer periods of time. I usually walk at around 2.5-3km/h setting and have found this to be perfect for typing and even writing (not very neatly). It is easy to get lost in work and accidentally rack up 10-15k steps in one go which is excellent for increasing your daily NEAT. It is also handy for warmup and cooldown around home workouts without leaving the house when the weather is not great. The beeping countdown to start and when it turns on & off is a bit loud, I haven't worked out how to turn that off (if it's possible) but I expect it's a safety feature of most treadmills.

Easy to set up but few faults quickly

Easy to set up - minimal design. The app used to track your walk/run installed and connected easily at first, however, this app is from Beijing and would not let me login again due to server issues in the app. I had trouble turning the machine on manually without the use of the app. I liked the app - when it worked - I now use my Apple Watch to track and not the app at all. The tread belt has shifted to the left and wont centre again, this is causing a noise from underneath, concerned the belt will wear on one side now (Id read others had the same issue). Overall - it does its job, its minimal but sturdy. However, not the best quality. I would replace with the same.

Awesome!!

App doesn't work

I can't get the app to work so now I've lost some features of the V-fold like the step counter. I have to use my phone and strap it to my arm to do my step count. Not only is the app nort working on my phone (a Samsung and it is compatible), the app is in China and there are concerns about security surrounding it. Besides that, it is very annoying that the app controls me having or not having full functionality access to the v-fold I bought. Also, the stand to place your phone or ipad on is not secure because when you are walking jogging, the equipment shakes and the phone / ipad falls off. I had to secure my ipad with a strap due to the movement.
