Home lifters building out a free-weight station need plates that stay put and a bar made for arm work, and this 45 kg set delivers both with a 35 kg spread of rubber-coated Olympic plates. The tri-grip design gives three handholds for loading and carrying, while the included Olympic tri bar adds a 25 mm knurled grip purpose-built for triceps and close-grip pressing.
It suits anyone who already runs or is building a 50 mm Olympic set-up and wants targeted arm training in the mix, with a plate spread of 4 x 5 kg, 4 x 2.5 kg and 4 x 1.25 kg for fine jumps. Two spring collars lock the load in place, and the heavy-duty rubber coating protects your floor and keeps the set quiet when you put it down.
The tri-grip handles are the detail I'd flag first: those cut-outs let you carry and load the 50mm plates one-handed, which matters when you're stripping down a tri bar mid-session.
The jump from the lightest plates is 1.25kg a side, so micro-loading below that isn't possible without add-on fractionals. The spring collars are the quiet win: fast to snap on, secure through tricep extensions.

Every plate in the set is finished in a thick rubber coating over a steel core, so setting them down or stacking them makes a dull thud instead of the sharp clang of bare iron.
The rubber also takes the edge off floor contact, which matters if you train on timber or in a garage gym.
What this means for you: For home lifters, the rubber keeps the noise and floor marking down without babying every rep.
Each plate has three cut-out hand grips moulded into the face, so you can carry, load and swap plates with a secure hold instead of pinching the rim.
That grip matters most when you are moving the 5 kg plates on and off the bar between sets.
What this means for you: The small plate increments let you add load in 2.5 kg total jumps, which keeps progression steady for lighter lifts.
The plates use a 50 mm centre hole, so they slide onto any standard Olympic bar or the included tri bar.
That means the set works with a full rack of Olympic equipment, not just the bar in this package.
What this means for you: If you already own or plan to buy an Olympic barbell, these plates drop straight on with no adapters.
The package includes a steel Olympic tri bar with a chrome-plated finish and knurled 25 mm handles for triceps and arm work.
The neutral-grip handles sit your wrists in a more natural line than a straight bar for close-grip pressing and extensions.
What this means for you: In my experience coaching arm days, a neutral-grip tri bar is the one piece people reach for once they have it.
This is a full starter package: 35 kg of tri-grip plates, the Olympic tri bar and two spring collars, all in one box.
You get the bar, the plates and the collars together, so there is nothing else to source before your first session.
What this means for you: Best for a lifter building an arm and accessory setup from scratch who wants the bar, plates and collars matched out of the box.

You get 35 kg of tri-grip rubber plates: four 5 kg, four 2.5 kg and four 1.25 kg, all with a 50 mm hole. The set also includes an Olympic Tri Bar (tricep bar) with a knurled 25 mm grip, plus two spring collars to lock the plates in place. Total package weight is 45 kg.
Yes. The plates have a 50 mm centre hole, so they fit any standard Olympic bar or sleeve. The included Tri Bar uses the same 50 mm loadable sleeves, with 16 cm of loading length per side. If your existing bar is Olympic-spec, these drop straight on. For a 25 mm standard bar, they won't fit.
The Tri Bar shines for isolation work: close-grip triceps extensions, skull crushers, hammer curls and rows where a neutral grip feels kinder on the wrists. The knurled 25 mm handles give solid control. With 35 kg of plates you have plenty of range to progress most accessory lifts at home.
The heavy duty rubber coating takes knocks and protects your floor, while the integrated steel rings around the centre hole stop the collar from wearing the plate out. The tri-grip cut-outs make loading, unloading and carrying far easier than flat plates. Cortex backs the set with a 12 month parts replacement warranty.
It ships Australia-wide by freight. Weight plates travel well, but open the box on delivery day and count the plates against the configuration: four 5 kg, four 2.5 kg, four 1.25 kg, the Tri Bar and two spring collars. Keep the packaging until you've checked everything.
Take photos before unpacking and email support@cardioonline.com.au within 48 hours of delivery. We'll lodge the freight claim, organise a replacement part or unit, and stay across it until your set is complete. You don't chase the courier or the manufacturer yourself; that's our job to sort out for you.
Not much. The tri-grip cut-outs make the plates easy to rack or stack in a corner, and the Tri Bar is a short bar that slots into most bar holders or leans neatly against a wall. A small rack or a rubber mat in a corner is enough for the whole 45 kg set.
