If you lift at home and want a starter set that covers compound work from day one, this 75kg package gives you 60kg of IWF-compliant black bumper plates plus a 15kg Olympic barbell rated to a 204kg max load. The plates run a high-density rubber face over a steel core, so you can drop loaded reps on a proper platform or mat.
It suits a lifter building their first deadlift and squat setup, with 2x 5kg, 2x 10kg and 2x 15kg plates, 32cm loadable sleeves and two Lockjaw collars to keep the load locked on. The hard-chrome carbon steel bar and 25mm grip give you a dependable base to add plates to as your numbers climb.
What stands out is the 450mm plate diameter on all three pairs, even the 5kg: full-size bumpers mean every lift pulls from the floor at the same height, so your deadlift setup never changes.
At 60kg of plates it isn't built for heavy lifters chasing big totals; you'll outgrow it fast. The ATHENA100 bar takes 204kg though, so I'd add more 15kg pairs as you progress.

This is a complete starting load: 60kg of bumper plates plus a 15kg Olympic barbell, so you can squat, deadlift and press from day one without buying pieces separately.
The bumpers use a high-density rubber body around a steel core, built to take repeated drops from overhead.
What this means for you: For a first home barbell setup, this covers every main lift straight out of the box.
Each plate runs on a 50mm steel core that slides onto the bar sleeve cleanly, so loading and stripping plates between sets stays quick.
The steel ring core keeps a secure fit on the bar and holds its strength through repeated drops.
What this means for you: Plates go on and off without fighting the sleeve, which matters when you are changing load under fatigue.
The plates are built to the IWF standard, which means the 450mm diameter matches competition sizing so the bar sits at the right lift-off height when loaded.
That consistent diameter also keeps every loaded plate flush to the floor for cleaner deadlift and clean setups.
What this means for you: Your bar starts at competition height even with the lighter plates loaded, so your pulling positions stay honest.
You get three matched pairs of bumper plates totalling 60kg, which gives you enough combinations to progress across most beginner and intermediate lifts.
What this means for you: With the 15kg bar, you can load anywhere from 25kg up to 75kg, enough range for a long stretch of linear progress before you add more.
The included ATHENA100 is a 15kg carbon steel Olympic barbell with a hard chrome finish and knurling that balances a firm grip with a non-abrasive feel.
At 25mm grip diameter it suits general strength training and sits well in most hands.
What this means for you: A 15kg bar is the standard women's Olympic bar weight, and the 25mm grip suits smaller hands.
The ATHENA100 carries a 204kg (450lbs) maximum load rating, so it has plenty of headroom beyond the 75kg supplied in this set as your lifts climb.
The bushings let the sleeves spin under the bar, which keeps your wrists settled through cleans and snatches.
What this means for you: You will outgrow the 60kg of plates long before you reach the bar's rated limit, so you can keep buying plates and keep the same bar.

It ships in six cartons, about 75kg all up: the barbell in its own 201cm-long carton, the 5kg pair and the 10kg pair each boxed together, each 15kg plate in its own carton, and the collars in a small box. On delivery day, have a second person handy: at 75kg total it's heavy. We'll keep you posted at every step.
Take photos before and during unpacking and email them to support@cardioonline.com.au within 48 hours of delivery. We'll lodge the freight claim, organise replacement plates or a new barbell, and stay across it until you're sorted. You don't chase the courier or the manufacturer yourself, that's our job.
Barely any. The plates are ready to load, and the ATHENA100 barbell arrives complete. You just slide plates onto the 32cm loadable sleeves and lock them with the two included Lockjaw collars. No tools needed, and one person can do it. The only real task is deciding where to store it.
The set carries a 12 Month Parts Replacement Warranty. If your product page shows the 100 Day Money Back Guarantee badge, you also get 100 days to change your mind: return it as-new in the original packaging with all parts, and we refund the product price and your original delivery fee. No restocking fee. We organise the return freight and you cover that cost.
The barbell is 200cm long, so allow clearance at both ends for loading and lifting. The plates are 450mm in diameter and stack neatly on a vertical tree or against a wall. For training, a lifting footprint of roughly 2.5m by 2m is comfortable. Plenty workable in a garage or spare room.
It suits beginners to solid intermediate lifters building a home gym. Sixty kilos of plates plus the 15kg bar covers most squats, deadlifts and presses for a good while. If you already lift more than 75kg, you'll need extra plates from day one. For getting started properly, this is the right starting block.
Yes, that's exactly what bumpers are made for. The high-density rubber with a steel core absorbs the impact of dropped Olympic lifts far better than cast iron. On bare concrete though, lay 15mm rubber matting or a dedicated lifting platform underneath. It protects the floor, quietens the drop and keeps the plates in better nick.
The ATHENA100 is rated to a 204kg max load, with hard chrome carbon steel construction and a 25mm grip. The 32cm loadable sleeves spin on two bushings, which is standard for general training rather than competition speed lifting. For home and intermediate strength work, that capacity gives you plenty of room to progress.
